Dyani Nevile

Senior Mental Health Occupational Therapist and Psychotherapist

  • Bachelor of Health Sciences-Occupational Therapy-Honours (University of Newcastle)

  • 3 year Advanced Training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychotherapy)

  • Endorsed Mental Health Occupational Therapist with Medicare (for the Better Access to Mental Health Care Scheme) and the Occupational Therapy Association of Australia

Dyani brings warmth, compassion and 20 years experience providing individual and group therapy and skills training, in a variety of mental health care settings. The majority of her career has been spent working at the region’s leading service for complex difficulties with emotion regulation and eating disorders, providing evidence based psychological interventions including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy-Enhanced and psychodynamic approaches.

Dyani enjoys working with adults and late adolescents experiencing a broad range of issues including: difficulties with emotion regulation and relationships, eating disorders, struggles with body image, workplace difficulties and stress, and adjustment difficulties. Taking a collaborative approach, Dyani tailors evidence based interventions to meet each client’s need.

Dyani is passionate about empowering clients to translate the work of therapy into positive, meaningful and sustainable change that enhances the quality of their lives and their relationships.

Leonie Funk

Mental Health Social Worker and Psychotherapist

  • Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) (University of Queensland)

Leonie has worked in public and private settings which have a focus on working with people to recover from trauma using evidence based treatments. She specialises in the areas of emotion regulation, self-identity, body dissatisfaction and eating disorders.

In addition she is a qualified yoga teacher with a keen interest in the interplay between mind and body. As such, she brings an enthusiasm to healing from a variety of perspectives.

Sam Di Paolo

  • Bachelor of Science (University of Newcastle)

  • Bachelor of Social Work (Monash University)

  • Graduate Diploma Conversational Model, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (in progress)

Sam has worked in public mental health services for over 30 years, across inpatient, community, rehabilitation and intake services.

He has also worked in non-government community agencies in mental health, out-of-home-care and youth programs. He has facilitated group therapy in anxiety management, relationships, dual diagnosis and men’s health.

He is very interested in utilising therapy for growth and making therapy accessible to all clients.
